If you are wondering if bikini line laser hair removal is for you then you have found the information you were searching for. The in-depth article covers costs of laser hair removal in Dublin, and we are the home of laser any bikini line for €49.

It is hard to say what is more popular between bikini line hair removal and facial hair removal. Both are incredibly popular and make up a great deal of the volume of hair removal we perform in our Dublin laser clinic. For anyone that has come to a salon month after month to have those pesky hairs seen to it is understandable that a more permanent option is often sought.

Beginning in 1998 lasers have come a long way from the very painful and slow method of removing hair; in 2016 they are much less painful very much quicker and the costs involved have also come down a long way. It is only a few years ago that a full Brazilian or Hollywood bikini line would have set you back over two thousand euro, now, you can have any bikini line for just €49 per session, over 6 sessions that’s only €294 compare that to the ongoing costs of waxing and the associated pain and well, it really is a no-brainer.

Using a laser machine on the pubic area is no different to any other part of the body, it is more sensitive of course, so it does sting a little bit more than say your arm or leg. Similar to our other hair removal information pages, we have included below the common FAQ’s.

How long does laser hair removal take for a brazilian?

A full Brazilian takes 15 minutes to 20 minutes to complete the entire bikini area. The Brazilian removes all the hair apart from a small vertical section about two fingers wide also called the landing strip.

Brazilian laser hair removal cost

As mentioned earlier, the cost of a Brazilian bikini line is €49 or the full six sessions for €294 but we also charge the same price regardless of the bikini line you desire. The Brazilian leaves a vertical piece of hair about two fingers wide, or commonly known as the landing strip. The only exception to the rule is the extended bikini line that is €95 per session or €570 for the course of 6. No pre-purchase course requirements, our price is a pay as you go price and we also offer a free patch test and consultation, you can book in your free consultation online.

How to prepare for bikini line laser hair removal

Preparation for you bikini line laser session is key for the best results and lessens the chances of irritation and complications. You must ensure you have 4 to 6 weeks of full hair growth before starting your laser course. Shaving is the only method you should use before your sessions. Shave the night or day before and do not rush, take your time and use a new razor. Under no circumstances should you wax, epilate or pluck hairs in this area throughout your course of treatments.

We also recommend the following preparation

  • Three to four days before your laser session we recommend you exfoliate with a gentle exfoliant.
  • You need to shave before each laser session, every time use a brand new razor and do not rush.If your pubic hair is long trim it first to avoid any unnecessary pulling at the follicle root
  • If your pubic hair is long trim it first to avoid any unnecessary pulling at the follicle root that will increase the irritation and may cause more irritation after the laser session.
  • Be very particular if you are having a Hollywood or Brazilian, stretch the skin exposing the labia and also between your bum cheeks getting as close a shave as possible.
  • Make sure you use a shaving cream or a shaving oil, do not dry shave the area and avoid using harsh soaps.
  • After you have finished shaving pat the area dry, and do not apply any moisturisers, or body lotions. You can apply a thin layer of (pure aloe vera gel) after you have shaved but not before coming in for your laser session.
  • Do not use any fake tans, sun beds and avoid the sun and suntanning. Make sure any traces of tanning products are removed this is vitally important to the safety of your skin and the effectiveness of the treatment.
  • Wear loose clothing and 100% cotton underwear the day of your sessions
  • Don’t be embarrassed, we perform hundreds of bikini line sessions a year, relax it takes only minutes and you will be back out the door in no time at all.

Laser hair removal brazilian how many sessions?

Permanent hair reduction is gained in 6 sessions. In some rare cases, up to 10 sessions may be required although we rarely come across this. The contradiction to that is hormonal problems and medications. In some people, there are medical conditions that render hair removal less effective. This will be discussed at the time of your consultation and patch test to determine your suitability for the laser procedure. After the course of 6 sessions, most people will require 1 or two maintenance sessions per year thereafter. As we are all unique there is no hard and fast rule, some people require very little maintenance and some do not even require a maintenance session for 2 or even three years. We have written an article that outlines why we need a laser course and maintenance sessions.

Brazilian and bikini line laser hair removal side effects

Irritation and redness to the area treated. A slight redness and some itching sensation are a normal side effect for the first few days after treatment. After the laser procedure, a calming gel is applied often Aloe vera based designed to cool and minimise the effects caused by the laser treatment.

Slight blistering. Occasionally, some people experience a crusting or slight blistering of the skin. Relatively rare and indicates the operator has used an incorrect setting. If you have had a laser treatment and you, have developed blistering swimming or prolonged immersion in water should be avoided. Pat the skin dry after showering or bathing do not rub the area. We must stress that blistering is extremely rare and we have not had the occurrence within our clinic. It is of our opinion that blistering is caused by the operator selecting an incorrect setting for the clients skin, or a too aggressive treatment.

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. A common side effect of the laser treatment is hyperpigmentation where the skin appears darker over the treatment area. In most cases this will subside after a few days, it may indicate the incorrect laser technology is used; although this is not a hard and fast rule. The light is attracted to the melanin in the skin, darkens, crusts over and sheds off, after this the skin is left with a more even skin tone and is the basis of skin rejuvenation therapy.

Bikini laser hair removal process

The process of removing pubic hair with a laser is the same as any other part of the body. Through a handpiece, the laser beam is aimed at the hair and a pulse of light penetrates the hair shaft damaging the hairs follicle and retarding the growth of future hair. As we discuss in the why do I need a course of laser article, hair in the growth phase is treated in each session. The sessions are broken up with normally a four-week delay between visits so each time you have your bikini hair removal session you are catching more hairs in the growth phase.

Does brazilian laser hair removal hurt?

Because the pubic area is more sensitive than other parts of the body it is to be expected for it to be a slight sting, like an elastic band flicking off of the skin. If you have had bikini waxing done, a laser session is a walk in the park. We try and discourage taking pain relief before your laser sessions but if you are particularly sensitive, you can take a normal paracetamol or similar pain relief.

Brazilian laser hair removal embarrassing

Relax! We perform hundreds of bikini line sessions per year, we will not be embarrassed for you, and the sessions are so quick, you will wonder what you were even worried about.

What is Hollywood laser hair removal

A Hollywood bikini line also called the Sphinx, is all the hair gone, no landing strip is left and all hair from the perianal is also removed. Removing all hair front and back. Leaving no hair in the pubic area.

Why is it called a Brazilian?

The term Brazilian comes from bikini Waxing in 1987, 7 Sisters from Brazil. The sisters Jocely, Jonice, Janea, Joyce, Jussara, Juracy, and Judseia Padilha opened the aptly named J. Sisters salon in Midtown Manhattan. What started off as something unique to the sisters quickly spread throughout the world. Although the all gone was not new and actually dates back centuries, the term caught on and is now the most requestion bikini line style. If you want to learn more about the history of hair removal, we wrote an article on that as well, yes, we do write about a lot of things 🙂
