Laser hair removal machines Getting to the root of the hair removal truth

This guide to laser machines is part of the main Laser Hair Removal Guide, you might like to begin there.

We have written this guide for anyone looking into laser hair removal. There is an extreme level of misinformation in the industry; the want of clients powered it and fueled by marketing.

We will be talking the most common collection of FDA-approved laser devices. The FDA U.S. Food and Drug Administration is the only real guide we have for quality assured devices. In ways, this is part of the problem with the industry. It is an unregulated industry, granted insurance companies require proof of training, notwithstanding said training varies greatly. In the greater percentage of cases, it is distributor level of equipment that provide the training. Major providers of laser equipment in most cases do take the training seriously. Not negating the fact that many machines being used are not from reputable sources or manufacturers. You can simply purchase a variety of high-powered laser machines off of the internet and set up a hair removal salon.

Everyone is always looking for the customer hook, a way to bring you into the establishment, us included. Common tactics include the pitting of medical grade equipment against each other. The fact of the matter all medical grade equipment from the main manufacturers is all world-class equipment and technology. The other common tactic is the price point, coupons offering ridiculous treatment prices, machines turned down and angry clients, throughout the world. Ireland is no different in that regards to many other countries.

All medical grade laser platforms are expensive, Nd:YAG, Alexandrite, Diode technologies and IPL Aesthetic Systems. Medical grade FDA approved is the first giveaway that the machine will not be the problem in obtaining results. We research the academic and scientific information and studies extensively to determine the best treatment approaches; and unbiased presentation of facts.

More on Laser & Treatments

Why do I need a course of laser?

It is a common question and to best explain it, we have written a guide. Containing the hair’s growth cycle, Fitzpatrick Skin scale and the many reasons behind differing treatment lengths. Above all, Zest is very much against the laser top-up, everyone should have effective results in under 6 sessions. It is very rare anyone needs more than 6.

Laser and Coupons don’t add up

With an increasing number of clients commenting on the ineffectiveness of laser & photo rejuvenation pulsed light treatments. Concerns raised about cost cutting measures. Zest promote truth in marketing & advertising. Coupons within the beauty industry ultimately lead to client dissatisfaction. Read more about laser hair removal and coupons.

Of course we wax too

Waxing is still as popular as laser services. Many men and women chose to wax and we have a waxing guide for that as well.

IPL Hair Removal

Still to come is IPL and hair removal. The poor cousin to laser hair removal but is it a fair label? Come back soon as we lift the lid on what is true in the industry and what is marketing.
A 2006 article in the journal “Lasers in Medical Science” compared IPL and both alexandrite and diode lasers. The review found no statistical difference in effectiveness, but a higher incidence of side effects with diode laser treatment. Hair reduction after 6 months was reported as 68.75% for alexandrite lasers, 71.71% for diode lasers, and 66.96% for IPL. Side effects were reported as 9.5% for alexandrite lasers, 28.9% for diode lasers, and 15.3% for IPL. All side effects were found to be temporary and even pigmentation changes returned to normal within 6 months.

We certainly do not expect people need to read scientific documentation, to gain the best results from their treatments. With Zest Academy opening soon, it is our job to understand all facets of the technology.
