How does Personal Training in Zest Work?

The Zest 360 Degree Personal Training Programme:


Pre- Foundation – 5 Step 360 Degree Fitness Assessment 0-2 Weeks

This 5 Step Process is carried out before any physical training in the gym is carried out. See Assessment for more info on this stage.

  • 1.Interview at Zest with one of the two head personal trainers.
  • 2.Pre Assessment: PT Starter Pack (Questionnaire Format)
  • 3.Initial Assessment
  • 4.Second Assessment
  • 5.Introduction to Zest Gym Floor

Foundation - Phase 1: 0-3 months

The 3 month Foundation phase is designed to set the Foundations of your Healthy Lifestyle and get you on the road to achieving your specific fitness goals. . We will concentrate on getting your ‘core’ function up to the required levels and introduce you to basic movements and techniques.

During the first 3 months you will begin to notice the physical and mental changes that come with changing your diet and exercise habits i.e. increased energy levels, increased sense of well being and increased mental clarity.

Your posture and core function will start to improve as will your body awareness, balance and coordination. This all important Foundation Phase sets the building blocks for a Fitter and Healthier YOU!

Momentum - Phase 2: 4-6 months

Once our Foundation Phase is complete and your diet and exercise are starting to make you feel healthier, less stressed and leaner.

We look to keep this momentum going and build on these good foundations. We will complete another Zest Fit assessment to chart your physical and mental progress to date and to discuss any further roadblocks that may have surfaced.

During the Momentum Phase you will feel:

  • Higher sense of well being and a decrease in stress levels.
  • An increased ability to deal with life’s challenges.
  • A new found physical and mental confidence
  • Your fitness levels will continue to rise and you will be able to cope with the increase in the intensity of your training.

Elevation – Phase 3: 7-9 months

The next 3 months is where you really start feeling the benefits of all the hard work you have put into your diet and exercise program over the last 6 months.

You are really starting to feel good about yourself and 'Life is great'! Your Fitness is at it’s best ‘since you can remember’ and people are really starting to notice your new ‘Zest for life’ as well as your decreasing waist line or increasing bicep’s!

At the Elevation Level we are starting to really increase the training intensity and use a lot of variety to keep your body and mind ‘fresh’ and used to coping with various different challenges. It is at this stage that many clients decide to take on a Lifetime fitness goal like running a marathon, competing in a triathlon, climbing a mountain or another goal you never thought possible.

All the benefits you started feeling in Phase 2 are starting to intensify. You start to emit a sense of well being that is obvious to others, and they will want to know your ‘secret’.

Peak - Phase 4: 10-12months

This is the level you have been aiming at for the last 9 months!

Here we are fine tuning all the things you have been working so hard on for the previous 3 phases.

  • Your Diet is balanced and providing all the nutrients you need to keep you Healthy and free from Dis-ease.
  • Your Fitness levels are at a stage that you feel you could take on any challenge.
  • You are leaner, stronger and more confident in all aspects of your life.
  • You have a new ZEST for life... congratulations!
